Wolfdales describes their food everywhere as Cuisine Unique, which I find very entertaining, but in a way, asian fusion or cali fusion is so over used…I applaud them for being creative.
Dinner with two couples who love food as much as we do….and one friend even told the story at dinner how she got o upset in college when she found out that one of her roommates wouldn’t share at restaurants, and how that was enough to break a friendship….couldn’t agree more.
What we ate
Small bites, perfect so we all got one each, apart from when we wanted more…
Hamachi guacamole spoons: One great bite to start
Smoked trout: This one we ordered two portions as our friends said we would need more than one bite per person…so right
Seared scallops: I could have used another one…
Ahi poke cones: reminds me of French Laundry cones…..very good
Asian marinated beets: tasty
We each ordered our own mains but shared around a bit:
Thai seafood stew: first bite was good but grew on me a I ate more and more, and ate the whole thing….
Cheeseburger with truffle fries: great burger, salty, juicy, bun got a bit soggy but awesome. The fries were a little let down but still good
Filet mignon with mushrooms: you could really cut it with a spoon, so delicious! Perfect steak
Very unusual…skipped dessert as we had to go back to our friend’s place and cook the ribs for 25 people for new years. Plus…..we had Jeni’s (http://www.jenis.com/) salted caramel ice cream in the fridge and salted caramel (from Ginger Elizabeth in Sacramento) to go with the vanilla ice cream (also Jeni’s)
In Sum: Don’t skip or save calories…….
