Was craving good pasta and was told by friends that Trullo was a must must. A bit out of the way for us on the west but I will travel far for good Italian.
What we ate
Starters: Slow cooked Brussels sprouts with crispy pancetta, chestnuts and gorgonzola fonduta: Sounded amazing but brussels were too overlooked and soggy. Prefer them roasted and crispy. The gorgonzola sauce worked well with fresh bread
Beef tartare: small and a bit bland
Pumpkin ravioli, ricotta with sage butter: I wish I knew….my friend PM wouldn’t share….
Pappardelle with beef shin ragu: very tasty ragu but too much pasta and not enough ragu
Tagliarini with clams and chili: fresh great pasta but needed more sauce (is this me???? Do italians prefer it drier?)
Chocolate tarte: simple and served with creme fraiche, could have used ice cream instead
Apple almond cake: a bit too dense
In sum
Pastas are home-made and tasty but think I can find something closer to home that rivals it. But would give it a second shot for sure
