L’Artusi is my other must visit while in the city. A perfect day includes ABC Kitchen for lunch and L’Artusi for dinner. I just dream of their amazing pastas….and always fun to dine with three guys as we usually order crazy amounts of food and I can try a lot.
What we ate:
Scallops crudo with sea salt, olive oil, lemon: So fresh, tasted literally off the boat
Hamachi tartare, white gazpacho, grapes, almonds: Not as good as scallops but refreshing and lovely
Roasted mushrooms with pancetta, fried egg, ricotta salata: Hearty and perfect for the snowy day
Whipped ricotta special: Creamy, great crackers with it
Orecchiette with sausage, salumi and pecorino: I am not an orecchietti fan but this one converted me, best pasta hands down
Bucatini with tomato, pancetta and pecorino (aka alla matriciana): Great home-made bucatini but the orecchietti was tastier, still very good, amazing sauce
Special ricotta ravioli: Not as flavourful
Octopus with potatoes, chilies and pancetta: A bit too rubbery so not a favourite
Branzino: too dry, and maybe too healthy
Olive oil cake, creme fraiche mousse: Not usually a fan of olive oil cake but super moist and tasty
Hazelnut chocolate torta, praline crunch, salted caramel gelato: Hard to go wrong with all those great ingredient
Pumpkin tiramisu with mascarpone mousse: They sent on the house and was surprisingly good, seasonal and comfort food at its best
In Sum
- Must: Orecchiette and scallops crudo
- Save the calories: ricotta ravioli, branzino, and octopus
- Surprisingly good: Pumpkin tiramisu
